History

The Australian College of Regenerative Medicine was established in 2016 with the goal of pushing the field to the forefront of Australian medicine. The main entity representing regenerative medicine in Australia, the ACRM trains and accredits medical staff wishing to join the exciting and fast-growing field.

Dr. Peter Lewis

Dr. Peter Lewis has been an Australian registered medical practitioner since 1983, being a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery graduate from Monash University. In 1988, he also completed a post-graduate diploma in Sports Medicine. He is considered an expert in the field of sports medicine, including platelet rich plasma (PRP), a regenerative medicine treatment. Peter has extensive experience working, lecturing and teaching on the topics of PRP and stem cell therapies both in Australia, as well as overseas. He was one of the first clinicians in Australia to offer PRP treatment, and is now one of the most experienced.

Dr. Sitaramarao Nageswerarav, MD.

Dr. Nageswerarav is a certified Ayurvedic practitioner who is currently pursuing an MSc in stem cell and regenerative medicine. Currently working as a general practitioner with a particular focus in musculoskeletal regenerative therapies. Dr. Nageswerarav has always been an avid supporter of stem cell and PRP treatments, and his practice focuses mainly on these subjects.

Dr. David Sacks

Dr Sacks graduated from the University of Birmingham (UK) in 2001. Working first in London and then in South Africa, he and his family now reside here in Australia. Dr Sacks has had 13 years of experience in sports and regenerative medicine, and has become experienced with using PRP and stem cell therapies for a wide range of conditions.

Dr. Jim Kiatos

Dr Jim Kiatos has a medical degree from Athens University (Greece), and has worked in both hospital settings and private practice. In addition to his medical qualifications, Jim has a Diploma of Applied Science (Naturopathy) from the Southern School of Natural Therapies (Melbourne), reflecting his strong interest in Complimentary Medicine. Currently, Jim is a lecturer and researcher at Victoria University (VU). His main academic focus has been in the areas of Introductory Pathology, Rheumatology/Autoimmune disease, Neuropathology, Clinical assessment, Diagnostic algorithms, and diagnostic investigations. Jim has supervised, or co-supervised, over 50 clinical & non-clinical pilot studies, conducted by Osteopathy students as part of their masters by coursework requirements.In recent years his research has focused on regenerative medicine.

He is currently working with Prof. Vasso Apostolopoulos, Ass. Prof. Kulmira Nurgali, and Dr Peter Lewis on several projects including research on Platelet Rich Plasma, Stem Cells, and the effects of polarised light on human immune cells and fibroblasts.

Dr. Ranjeet Kumar

Dr. Ranjeet Kumar is a practicing Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon at South City Hospital since 2017. He has completed his Master of Surgery degree in Orthopaedics and has 7 years of experience in this field as well.

Dr. Ranjeet is well trained in matters relating to trauma, joint replacement, sports injuries, ponseti treatment, stem cell therapy and PRP therapies. He has also completed Advanced Trauma Technique course from the United States and stem cell therapy training by Dr. Peter Lewis at the Australian Stem Cell Orthopaedic Clinic.

Lastly, he has obtained a post fellowship in joint replacement surgery from the Pakistan Orthopaedic Association.
